All North American itineraries on Carnival Cruise Line cancelled through June 26th. Departures starting June 27th are still on.

Looks like the majority of the O-T will have to resort to heading to their second favorite location, 30A, this June (assuming Florida starts accepting LA residents again).

Have to imagine they won't be having cruises until they can literally screen every person as they are boarding for COVID19 and COVID19 antibodies.

I'm guessing they'll be able to do that mid-Summer so this timeline makes sense.

Aunt Karen had saved up last year to go on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas this spring ...

I know because she had a year long countdown on Facebook letting everyone know when it was

They put up a shite ton of billboards in Dallas two weeks ago. Like four in a row on 30W/45/75. I was laughing my arse off when I saw them.

I figure cruiselines will probably be shut down until they can effectively test all boarders before they are even allowed to board the ship, and possibly before they allowed to depart the ship back unto American soil.

I like cruises, but they really are the perfect place for a virus like this to spread. I almost even wonder if late June is even feasible. Im pretty sure by that time the virus will have slowed down a lot and be very manageable. But even if just 1 single infected individual boarded a ship, 4 days later you could probably have 500 infected get off the ship.

The majority of people who go on Carnival cruises fall under the "at-risk" categories (obese, health problems, old), so this is the correct action.

Depends where you go. If you're departing from the gulf or Miami, yes.

And on a 4/5 day cruise, none of those people might known until they are back after the cruise?

And even if we secure everyone getting on the boat as not having it, what if they come in contact with someone while at a port of call? And that includes the crew!

Eventually we are going to have to figure out a way to live life with a few people catching it. We just can't eradicate it completely.
