The last time I stayed in a hotel in New Orleans I think it was the Hyatt close to the Smoothie King Center/Superdome. It was nice.
Stayed at the Sheraton on Bourbon St years ago, it was nice. I assume it still is. And stayed at one by Harrah's.. The Windsor maybe?

They were all nice places. At least I thought so. I've also stayed at one of the hotels by the airport, which I wouldn't really recommend.
