y in the frick would they need to tackle a person who was being charged with identity theft in the first place?
It's seems they are addicted to some type of adrenaline rush.
They seem like giddy little kids when they are storming a house during a no knock warrant.
No knock warrants are how they really get their rockks off.

Can you blame them? Hurting people is fun and they get paid to hurt people. Nothing wrong with enjoying your job.

James Blake pictured with his wife who encouraged him to publicly speak on issue. He could also pass for middle eastern, so the "suspect" might not have been a black male

So you think that these officers should just approach a physically intimidating criminal with no guns drawn and no way to defend themselves?
How do they know they even need a defense? Clearly they're not intelligent enough to use the information they had to see if it really was the correct person or not. Simple as that. If a police officer stops me in a vehicle should he be allowed to rip me out of my car, throw me down on the sidewalk and arrest me?They're the ones with a gun holstered to their belt buckle and I'm the dangerous one? GMAFB.

Looks like a case of white guilt to me...

Former tennis pro James Blake says the first person he called after being thrown to the ground and handcuffed by New York City police officers Wednesday in a case of mistaken identity was his wife, and she is the reason he is speaking publicly about the incident.
“She said, ‘What if this happened to me?’ Blake said today on “Good Morning America” of his wife, Emily. “Immediately, I was furious because I thought about what I would be thinking if someone did that to my wife, if someone tackled her in broad daylight, paraded her around in a busy, crowded sidewalk in New York City with handcuffs with her cuffed behind her back, and taking away her dignity.
"I couldn’t accept that," Blake said.

Police need to defend themselves against criminals. I don't know how to make that more clear.

If you're a criminal who needs to be arrested for doing crimes, then yes of course.
I'm not sure why you are so anti cop but your attitude leads me to believe you're engaged in some illegal activities. Hope you change your ways soon or go to jail.

James Blake was basically assaulted for being black and misidentified by a witness. He was suspected of credit card fraud, not a violent crime. He was roughed up by five plain clothes police officers who did not announce who they were or what their motive was. For those that don't know, James Blake graduated from Harvard.
