We had one of those in a resource office at my high school in the early 90s. We would occasionally watch a video disk copy of the Muppet Movie if we got bored when staying after school for a club or event.

As mentioned. - the picture was god awful, even for 70s-80s standards.

yep, dad lost the remote so if i was playing outside he would walk past the tv to the door and call me in to come sit there and change the channel until he found something he liked

You can get a tv with a screen that size (and 100 times Clearer) for a few hundred bucks now, and a Child can carry it


TV tech, size and price drop compared to 40 or so years ago is insane

Hell, almost all tech. Even poor people have supercomputers in their pockets that are orders of magnitude better than the best the government could muster back then for millions
