Speaking of seatbelts, how many of you remember these old time seatbelts that burnt the crap out of you on a hot summer day as a kid??

I'll leave this here for those with a little time on their hands. Could get addictive.
That's pretty cool.

I love that movie too. It was also a childhood fav. I was about as old as that kid. It was a great movie about a kid who just wanted a friend, and his dad to pay attention to him. And be a father to him. I did notice the stuff about Baton Rouge, and at one point the kid was wearing an LSU hat and gear i think.
I love all these 80s flashbacks. I am starting to show my age when i say things were much simpler then. The 80s itself turned out to be an iconic decade that doesn't come around too often. I would love to be able to relive my childhood and go back in time.

One of my favorite 80's commercials... We're closed now!
Can't believe that no one's mentioned this yet... The Midnight Special
Fess up, all Saints fans had at least one pair of these...
My favorite 80s comic strip...
Finally, a flashback to my 70's childhood... The Banana Splits

Who here had a BMX bike? I had a GT Mach One. Could do indos(sp?) and bunny hops and could get some pretty good air on ramp jumps back in 5th and 6th grade.
I had a GT Performer. I didn't think I was getting it for Christmas (this was in 1985 or '86) and then I opened a present and there was a scavenger map in it that my parents made for me. I had to follow clues to find the next "present (aka clue) and that gave me hints on where to look for the next one.
It ended up leading me to the bathroom and the bike was in the bathtub. (with the shower curtain closed in case I had to go pee). It was really cool.
I recently found the bike again, after all these years. Not one just like it, the exact same bike. Still even has the brake pads I put on it (they were molded into little white shoes (brake shoes), they're still on it! I took it home with me..... again. Just needs to be cleaned but other than that, it's in great shape. Still even has the original white chain on it!

Take me away, I don't mind, but you better promise me, I'll be back in time.

Anyone remember this "secret" game on old school computers?

I'll always remember the Tales from the Darkside episode where the lady is trying to lose weight, and fruits start talking to her. In the end she sews her own mouth shut.

That's what I mean! Tales from the Darkside was not so much about horror as much as the creep factor. It scared the crap out of me.

That and another good show, which was late eighties early nineties Tales from the crypt. Although Tales from the Darkside had the better creepiness factor. Esp if you were a kid and watched Darkside late at night. That intro and ending would freak you out.
Loved this! The early years of these were pretty decent. After a while, the later seasons got kind of silly.
Dont forget about Creepshow and its sequel. The sequel was panned by critics. But both creeped, no pun intended, me out.

Special Presentation
Don't know if this has already been posted, but in the days prior to expanded cable and countless viewing choices, this meant something good -- and possibly animated was about to come on.
Was it Garfield, Snoopy -- possibly "Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown"

In the mid-to-late 80s, there was an old general store a few blocks from my house.
It was weirdly out of place for the time. They sold all the ferrara pan candy in those little boxes. I always associate those tiny boxes with that place. Strange.
