I will say that more and more of those black elders who give such outdated advice are dying off (as are their white peers). My parents never talked like that about white people (or any other race), and both of them grew up in the ghetto.
I vividly remember my grandma telling me not to get involved with white girls when I told her I was trying to get into A&M. I know she's a product of a very different time, but I'm damn glad I ignored that little turd of "advice"

Tuesday night I was at the Mcdonald's on Esplanade at 11:00 pm the drive thru is long as phuck. There is a teenage kid taking the orders. He has the window open and the lady ordering is being a bitch. So she finishes her order with an ice cream cone. The kid says, "oh you wanna be a bitch huh, you got an attitude bitch." "Watch this" (this was said wit the mic off.) "Sorry my the machine is broken"
