In college I worked at a restaurant and we got gift certificates for a Christmas bonus. One bartender gave hers to a homeless guy who immediately used them, we had to put him in a closed section so the smell wouldn't run off other customers.
Manager then told us we could share them with any friends or family who weren't homeless.
