Will the cops start rioting and looting now?

I heard it come across the radio that he's in good condition. He's a fifth district officer who was working a detail at Gene's Poboys.

You sound like the typical, low-IQ trash one expects to see in about 1/3 of the posts on the OT.

Glad the officer is doing well. Wasn't insinuating the cop is dirty, just that I was interested to hear the full story of the shooting. Apologies if it came off that way.

I'd call that the fringe of the Marigny.

My uncle lives at the corner of the Marigny and Esplanade.

There are really nice old New Orleans homes there, but the amount of culture can be overwhelming.

Thats a decent breakfast and lunch spot for some cheap arse food. The Pink building on the corner of Elysian fields and St. Claude.

The problem with a one-man detail at Gene's is the daiquiri shop next door, since that spills over into Gene's at night. The detail should be treated as an alcoholic beverage establishment and require 2-3 officers.

I've never seen 2-3 detail officers at one place before.
Even at Bars with them, there is usually just one.

Maybe New Orleans proper is different than Jefferson Parish, but officers there are not allowed to work details at alcoholic beverage establishments. Coincidentally, whatever non-alcohol-serving building that is next door to establishments that would otherwise request a detail officer almost always hire one, for whatever reason.

There are no ABOs with just one officer. At minimum, there will be one at the door and one in the street. Remember that there are only a few of them in the city with NOPD / OPSO details, because they are prohibited and only the grandfathered ones can still use officers. Private security may have a different policy. Check out Republic, Metro, Barcadia, etc. All of them require 3 deputies scheduled, minimum two to even carry the detail.
