Pretty sure an admin can post your IP on this thread for free if they wanted. I was under the assumption that is how they used to bust alters.
After that I don't think it is too hard to trace with help of the provider.

Dumbasses have been making that threat since the dawn of BBS's. Unless TD gets tied to an ISIS recruiting plot or something, your anonymity is safe. Even if some lawyer was crazy enough to pursue it, the board operators don't know anything but the throw-away email you used to sign up. So they'd have to sue Google to find out who owns the email address I used to sign up 8 years ago, which was not tied to my real name anyway, unless they think Ignatius J. Reilly is a real person.
