Can you link that

Think it is on the Secretary of State website.

I like to play the game of seeing my vote during certain elections.

Majority Democrat voters for most of its history, for sure.

But the other posters are not wrong about the influx of hipsters (which is happening in lots of other cities too, btw).

I mean, if you think those old folks who have been voting Dem forever are SJW's who go around looking for reasons to be offended and launching social media attacks on private entities - No. No they are not the same.

Exactly. Native NOLA democratics and Tranplant NOLA liberals are not all the same.

Just curious, how long have you lived here? What high school did u go to?

I didn't realize you were such an authority on New Orleans.

I will say this. I am from BR

Moved to Nola 6 years ago

The native New Orleanians I have ran into as a whole would not be defined as the modern damn liberal

They are cut from the cloth of live and let live, and there isn’t enough time in the day to be offended

I’m not an authority on New Orleans, however I pay attention, I meet people, I know people that have lived here forever, people that have just moved here in the past 10-15 years. I lived here as an elementary kid, moved away and then moved back a few years after college. I’ve been here for the past 20 years of my adult life.

I think you are confusing older liberals and younger liberals.

Their voting records don't lie.

In the original article he states that the word "Squaw" is "absolutely horrific," yet this champion promotes burlesque dancing in his bar (I know, I know...it's art. OK). If I was so easily offended by a now obscure word, I'd imagine that having women remove their clothes for entertainment would make my head explode.

I don't know how to post pictures, but the burlesque discussion and photo are midway down the page at the below link.

The majority of my white conservative nola native friends don’t vote. They sure as hell didn’t in the last Mayors race.

Well that’s another issue

For city elections your vote in Nola as a conservative is pointless

I can’t imagine the white Nola vote goes Democrat today for presidential elections. Maybe I’m wrong though

I think they aren't the stereotypical liberal that TD perpetuates but NOLA liberals certainly are liberal. I agree that few people here are bothered by things like this thread.

I also find that people who aren't natives are the ones who throw "you aren't even from here!" in people's faces. No one has any say in what city they are born in.

I sent this thread to my gf (no pics) who is half Chitamacha and the first thing she texts back is "Why the frick is it 14 pages?"

We go to Courtyard, and will continue to do so. She thinks the #MeToo movement is vastly overblown, feminism isn't needed anymore, and my favorite thing about her is she lets people know when they're boohooing about being an oppressed minority to grow a sack. Her people have had it way worse than theirs, but guess what, who gives a frick. Live your life.

I have to keep myself in check, she's starting to make me have feelings other than in my pants.

At least educate yourself so you at least sound like you know what you’re talking about.

And you assume I don't?

I don't understand why only some New Orleanians are allowed to have opinions.

Everyone is different and while I do think we have loonies taking their offended-ness too far these days (on both sides, just look at this thread).. I also think that nobody gets to be an authority on how someone else feels when it is something within reason.

Just because your girlfriend is Native American and not offended doesn't mean other Native Americans would be "crazy" for being offended. Just like the existence of black people who aren't offended by the N word doesn't mean those who are offended are whiny.

There's plenty of women who are completely against feminism as a whole. That doesn't make them right (or wrong) just because it turns you on.

Not sure about the last 30 years, but yes the records going pretty far back are available on the Secretary of State's website as well as plenty of others.
