I have an unpaid camera ticket on my credit report.

you could challenge it and ask them to verify it

they'll have to prove it or remove it

CORRECTION, the ticket is for NOT coming to a complete stop and just rolling thru the light. not many have the additional signage specifying "no turn period"!!! people assume, it's for turning on the red, the fine print is, NOT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, PRIOR to turning on red...get the difference?!

Did this nugget of truth offend the OT's millennial sensibilities? Judging by the downvotes, looks like it. Poor wittle babies.

Was the letter sent certified? If not, throw it away Bc they can't prove you received it.

This is only partially true. If they send mail to the correct address 3x then there is an assumption you received it, by law.

By prove, they'll have to prove that you ever agreed to pay them the amount on the invoice. It's not legal. Challenge it with the 3 major credit bureaus and it will get removed from your credit history.

it's probably for turning right before coming to a complete stop

I've received one on Sherwood and Coursey after sitting still for over ten seconds, then turning right on red.

I've seen that camera go off after people have cleared the intersection on a yellow light.

I'm not paying those to tickets. Ever.

Even if they were calibrated correctly and only issued citations for actual infractions - which they don't - the whole purpose of the program is revenue collection not safety. Every study of red light cameras has shown an increase or stagnat amount of accidents at light enforced intersections yet the cameras remain.
