“Wifey has a ‘16 ZL1.....that sumbitch will RUN. ”
I have a 2018 ZL1 10 speed automatic and the car is amazing. It’s way more car than this old frick can master. Hoping to do some track days at Barber and 1/4 mile at Steele drag strip. Health has been kicking my arse last 9 months.
The new Shelby GT500 is 760 HP! I don’t know how they’re getting that power to the ground! I’m totally stock at only 650 HP and it’s all over the road with nannies on at half throttle. Turned nannies off one time and damn near wrecked. Tires are stock Goodyear Super Car 3, super soft...220 tread wear rating.

If you want to getting into tracking the car my basic suggestion would be buy a second set of rims in the smallest diameter that fits and covers the discs. You may be able to find a smaller OEM set from a lower trim used maybe with some curb rash cheap. Then wrap them in Toyo Proxes R888 or R888R rubber. The grip will be a huge jump and they give plenty of notice for breakway but when they go they will go. This isn't the best option for the strip but will hook much better than your DOT tires.
You can probably get much more specific wheel and tire size combos on the Camaro forums but hopefully you can get the 888 rubber.
Also no matter whether you get new shoes or not make sure you tape the car, either painters tape or traktape. You want it to atleast look like the first picture if not the second.
Yeah you look stupid going to the track but you won't look stupid there nor will you feel stupid when your car isn't covered in stone bruises.
