You're a bit older than me.

And they loved Almond at Woodlawn.

Btw, I've been listening to No Limit songs on spotify since this thread started.

Our teacher said "if you leave this classroom, you BETTER be going to the stadium or I'm reporting you as skipping class."

So yea. The teachers are what made it possible by letting the kids go who would have been too scared to rebel with consequences.

They played for State a couple years after I graduated. We went to Lafayette to watch them.

I was good friends with Zach Ray. He went to Nicholls.

Was Lee Carney on that team, and James Banks?

That's 2 names I have heard in years. I went to Belaire for 2 years before I was transferred to Broadmoor. Those Belaire teams were great... I'll never forget watching them beat Lester Earl's Glen Oaks team in OT....the gym was rockin that night.

I was at that game.

This thread needs to stay alive. The LGBT thread on the Poli Board is going to get me banned.

Nice... I'm thinking it was in 96? It could've been earlier than that though.

That was a long damn time ago.

Those years are mostly a blur now. Especially 95-99.

I liked playing in the Belaire gym. I hated the old Woodlawn gym. Felt like you might hit the roof on a jumper and McKinley would roll out a 45 piece marching band with 35 of them drums in a gym.

Time out was called and they would just start up a song and you could not hear shite.

I remember being at a game at Belaire in 9th or 10th grade and the floor was sweating so bad that stopped the game midway through and moved it to Denham's gym.

Keep in mind, this was before most people knew who Master P was.

Master P did not live in CCLA before he was famous

Broadmoor was pretty decent in baseball back in my day.

Ryan Theriot was a year younger than me. I have some stories about that dude.

Central wasn't bad in baseball either.

Exactly. P was already established when he moved into CCL.

We were great choke artist as well, how we didn't win a state title in my 4 years still baffles me.

I still say Mike Woods was the most talented athlete I ever played with or against.

This. Everyone in town knew who he was.

Is there any truth to the rumors that they wouldn't let him play golf?

Well I got the pleasure of getting run flat over once by Allen Stansberry(used him at fb a bit) and run around multiple times by Warrick Dunn my Sr year. So.... I can't agree.
