Right. And those two objects, both, by shear luck ended up being just the right distances and sizes to "appear" to be the same size from earth.

Ok so that's a theory. I can make a drawing with an invisible can of beans making the shadow. The whole point here is we are discussing what we actually see.

If you had any clue whatsoever about geometry, you could map the stars from various places on earth yourself and you would reach the only conclusion there could possibly be: the earth is a sphere, just like every single other body in the universe above a certain size.

It is simply impossible to fake the position and movement of the stars as we see them. In order to make a flat earth appear to be a sphere, a different view of the stars would have to be projected for every single location on earth. In order for your view of the stars to be correct, someone would have to know your exact location and somehow be able to project a view of the stars that only you can see. We would each need our own dome.

The geometry simply does not work.

This geometrical test is much easier. You don't need to go around earth mapping stars, just an expanse of land or water. And it's not going to present phenomena to you, that you then have to create a fantastical non-sequitur theory as explanation and claim it as the only possible explanation. No this is much simpler. You just show the geometry is wrong and it doesn't curve. So their round earth isn't true. And you can stop there, you don't have to invent a million flat earth theories though you may find it fun.
