I know there are several watch guys on here that collect vintage watches and thought I would give you a heads up on a new release from Michael Young of Classic Watch Repair. He has some new watches out that recreate the vintage tropic look and patina of some old watches. This guy is probably the best in the world at restoring old watches and puts out some affordable watches also.
And yes I know this look is not for everyone but I love the look of how some watches age over time.
He sells them under the Undone brand

Yea it is a chronograph he has lots of different designs. I think his homage watches are cool looking. Lot of Rolex and Omega look alike watches out there but not many people doing the vintage look. Thought I would share it with people that like that look.

Thanks for posting this, but I'd kick my own arse for paying $300 plus for a quartz movement, even a chronograph, when I can pick up a vintage automatic for less.

That is actually a pretty solid movement.

For me, the allure of vintage watches is the craftsmanship and beauty of manual and auto movements. Quartz, no matter how solid, are unattractive.

Mechanical movements are great and you probably don’t care how it works but you should study up on that particular movement because it really is kind of interesting how it works. It is definitely not you typical quartz movement.

I'm guessing it's a hybrid? I know miyota had one in development years ago. It may be more accurate and service-easy, but I hate that the quartz movement led to the sale of the greatest USA watch company ever (Hamilton)...and I still carry a grudge...TBH I've never owned a Japanese watch. Not a preference, just never ended up with one.
My collection is 90% USA movements (Hamilton, Hampden, Howard, Waltham, Bulova) and old Omega pre-swatch movements. I own 1 quartz...a 90's Swiss Army that a friend gave me who is long deceased.

If you like US movements you should check out Weiss Watch Company they have a little shop out in California and engineered one of the first new movements to come out of the United States in probably 40 something years.
