New vehicle: sedan or crossover SUV?

In the market for a new vehicle. Really tempted to get a new crossover SUV because of the extra room and elevation, but I've always been a sedan guy and feel like I might miss it.
Any of you baws switch to a midsized crossover SUV after decades of driving sedans? Any regrets?
