I'd rather give money to that guy than the gypsy travel ball trash that mug you outside of Sam's on the weekends because Braydyn and Cadyn and Jaxon's fathers sign their kids up for so many batting cage sessions they forgot to leave some to put gas in the minivans to get to Valdosta for regionals or because Cadence's cow of a mother wants her to go cheer at disney world.

Meh. One group is trash and the other is just annoying. Don't give your money to meth heads and be a dick to kids trying to actually do something.

I'm not giving to either.

If you are talking about the black dude in the wheel chair on Poydras, I’ve seen that guy stand up, get out of the wheel chair and push it down the road. He used to be there all the time and then I didn’t see him for a year. I saw him show back up the other day in the same area.

Sorry to bump a thread that's a little older, but wanted to share, mostly for eitek1

I was out on a lunch walk earlier this week and the wheel chair guy asked me for a push across the street. I told him no and he bitched at me for a while and tried to cause a scene.

The next day while leaving work he asked me for a push. I straight up told him if I push him it's going to be in front of a moving bus. The look on his face was priceless. Doubt my story if you want to baws, but I said it.

I simply just keep walking and ignore them. It’s the best way to handle beggars. I don’t get why people engage with them on any level.

I had a young white guy ask me for gas money at a service station early one morning. He was driving an older Jeep Cherokee and gave me some sob story about trying to get to work somewhere and didn’t have money to make it. It told him, “I won’t just give you the money, but I’ll buy something from you. You have anything in your vehicle you can sell me?” He says, “No, I don’t have anything to sell.” I saw that he had an aftermarket stereo installed in the Jeep and I said, “What about that stereo, I’ll buy it from you for $20.” He says, “Nah man, I’m not selling my stereo.” I said, “Well, I guess you don’t need the money that bad then. If it were me and I was in a bind like you are, I’d gladly take that deal. See ya.”

They’re all full of shite. Offer to buy something from them. I’ve actually had one sell me stuff if they’re desperate. Bought a nice emergency roadside kit from a guy for $10 once.

Yes that works too. Also offer to buy them the gas they claim to need or something else like that.
