That was the role Chris Farley was meant for.

Landrieu, like Jindal before him, is an abject failure.

Instead of dealing with the City's/State's problems, they grandstand and lobby for their next job/campaign.

Landrieu has ignored the problems plaguing NO (crime, infrastructure, flooding) so that he can leverage a job with the DNC.

Jindal did everything he could to try and make a presidential run, while avoiding dealing with Louisiana's issues.

Maybe one day we'll elect political leaders that want to improve NO/Louisiana, instead of looking for their next opportunity.

Seems like it would give him a better resume to actually have a list of accomplishments when running for a better position.

Absolutely, and the same for Jindal. The best decision would be to make a difference here, without positioning for the next job. Then, if offered, a better position would be warranted. If not, at least you did what you were elected to do.

Sadly, I think they are not willing to try and actually make a difference, they want the quick, headline grabbing, empty decision that they can tout to their base.

For Jindal, it was holding off on raising taxes, which is ok as long as you shrink government and balance/lower the budget (close universities, tie Medicaid to a work requirement, etc.). He was not willing to fight for the second part.

For Landrieu, it has been to remove the monuments, when he should be focusing all efforts on crime, infrastructure and flooding.

I agree, Jindal was just someone that could talk fast and sound smart.
