They do bitch a lot, sometimes overstate the problem. He's been saying for 20 years that New Orleans is a lost cause....his Dad was saying it 40 years ago.

The main issue with nopd is the decree consent. It puts power in the hands of beaureucrats and It hamstrings officers. They are set up to fail.

Until it is addressed, It is hard to lure officers into the city under the circumstances and the good ones just leave for a more favorable environment.

The current chief supports the consent decree and so does Cantrell so it’s going to be a battle to ever have it changed or eliminated.
