On a scale of one to OweO, how disabled will the place be?
I'm sure there will be issues, but it is a new terminal and not a new airport. Imagine delays will be getting on the planes and not getting off. Unless the baggage system...well.
Getting off the airport site might be interesting as well.

Do the crappers flush?

Yes. With the ferocity of 1,000 niagra falls.

That electrical connection looks ghetto AF
Well it is NOLA. Which also means that those things will be out of sanitary seat covers 98.6% of the time.

It wasn’t wonderfully functioning, but I bet I could have made it so for something less than $100 million.

and the old MSY still sucked.

If the new airport functions better for flight traffic then that’s one thing. But replacing an airport bc it’s dirty or outdated seems silly. No one hangs out at an airport for fun. No one visits or avoids a city based on how pretty the airport is. It’s just a place to pass through, not a destination.
I feel like improvements will help us land more routes

Yeah they spent 1,000 million
Not 100
Maybe some of that is for the flyover ramp...one day

It will never be ready in time.

The billion dollars would much better have been spent to overhaul and rebuild a water system for the city.
Why would MSY spend their money on a water system? It’s really remarkable that people are so stupid that they think money just sits in one big purse.

I think the new airport looks great. There is a lot of misinformation in this thread like having to drive down Bainbridge to get there. People do no research and just shoot from the hip.
The old MSY is a complete dump, and it’s about time Louisiana gets something nice. First impressions to the city are important. People already think NOLA is a dump, but when we try and fix things, they get all bent out of shape. Plus, big business likes amenities. There are intangibles in play that naysayers don’t consider. People complain the old facility is adequate. These are same people that wait for things to get to code red to be reactive, instead of being proactive.
I take great pleasure in knowing all these negative nancies are pissed off, and that there isn’t a damn thing they can do about it. I’m excited about November 6, and hope the people upset about all of this are loaded with anxiety on their future travels to the new MSY.

Yes. First there is a turnoff for short term, then longterm/arrivals.
ST = short term
LT = long term (garage not built yet)
ARIV = arrivals

Yeah, no one should try to access it from Bainbridge. Just a bad move. It will be the secondary exit and not the primary.

Contracts for contractors that make political contributions and jobs of minority owned firms. Spending money is great for politicians.
Posted on 10/27/19 at 10:07 am to TulaneLSU
Or use the money to hire people who can keep the pumps properly maintained ALL OF THE TIME.

Of what benefit is spending a billion dollars to replace a fully functioning airport?
The old terminal was a straight up dump. Construction may have been a shite show, but this was needed.
