Amen on latex! Heavy, ridiculous to move, expensive, and the best sleep ever. Ours is made by a local place. Amazing

ikea makes a latex mattress that gets good reviews and is super cheap. i'm in the same boat as OP. i think i'm going to try the leesa. this review is pretty helpful (and has coupons for both) LINK

Anyone who tells you there's one right answer for you is an idiot. It really depends on how you and your lady sleep and what kind of physical condition you're in.

You sleep on your side, get something soft....you sleep on your stomach, get something really firm, you sleep on your back...go somewhere in the middle. If heat was an issue, don't do any full-on memory foam mattress, because if tempur material made you feel warm, the knock offs definitely will.

If you get something with springs in it, make sure the coils are individually pocketed. If you get a connected coil system, you and your wife will wake each other up every time you turn over, wake up to piss, sneak out of the bed to go jerk off.

Thanks for all the advice and the link to the coupons. We decided to pull the trigger on the Leesa mattress. From all of the reviews that I've read on each mattress, the Leesa doesn't seem to be quite as firm as the other two. Which is something we were looking for.

Going to take it on a test drive for a few days. Thanks again.

Caspar has a thin layer of latex on top that may not be thick enough to combat heat buildup.

Leesa has a thicker layer of a foam similar to latex that is designed to combat heat buildup, so, I went with Leesa.

I think Caspar and Leesa are pretty close.
