Yeah HDL 55-56 (has always been there) and A1c stayed at 5.3 which is where I’ve basically been since 20s. Actually due some new ones as I wanted to just give body some time to chill the frick out and get back to normal.

Yeah, the guy had to get in line for kidney transplants, but the doc was dumb , right. All you have to do is google kidney and creatine and you can find cases of taking extreme amounts of creatine will severely damage the kidneys. That’s all you have to do.

quote:1:250 to be accurate. So this drug would only be for .3% of the population. Repatha does drop ldl into the teens, but investors were disappointed to learn that the reduction in mace was not linear, suggesting that under a certain point, there is no benefit and reducing LDL. Thomas Dayspring is the only person people need to listen to on cholesterol advice. Statin data can show a modest reduction in mace, but the idea is if you can do 10 of these things you can make a big difference in your health. It looks like the new weight loss drugs,GLP-1 are just as effective in reducing mace, and they’re finding benefit without weight loss, suggesting there is something intrinsically beneficial about the drug, and not just weight loss.
A lot of people have this
The benefit in a statin pales in comparison to the benefit of being less than 20% body, fat, walking 10,000 steps a day, zone 2 140 minutes a week, zone 4 10 minutes a week. In that order. After that you can worry about macros.

Yes. Solely looking at LDL is erroneous and the war on cholesterol and fat standing alone has also been wrong. The govt push for hi carbs and low fat has lead to more heart disease. Sugar is the killer here. Not the fat
Completely agree. I went to an all meat (mostly beef but chicken and fish as well), fruit and dairy diet and I lost 20 pounds in 3 months and my LDL lowered back to the normal range. This country's view on diet is so messed up.

I have very high hdl, very low tri, and high ldl
Years ago I would be on a statin crushing my brain for no reason

I agree with you also. However, I was part of the initial studies on repatha. They did every type of study one can have on lipoproteins. And genetic testing. Told me much of my chol was very tiny and very "sticky". Two bad combos. Before repatha I was getting a stent every 7 months despite eating healthy. Since repatha, 5 years, hadn't had any problems at all period.
Point being, different outcomes for different people. Repatha is my choice and I have no desire to try others.

My experience with HDL, LDL and Triglycerides also involve having a stent at 52. Mostly genetics but total cholesterol was normal; LDL (bad) was borderline high. HDL (good) was borderline low and Triglycerides were in the midrange. These are reported on a lipid profile and also calculated as cardiac ratio/index, a ratio between the three. This is the number we chose to focus on, mine was 5.2. Normal is about 5 to 3. Crestor 10mg to help lower LDL and get a bump up on the HDL. Exercising will also push HDL up. Zetia 10mg (works in the gut) to lower LDL. Changed my diet (less booze) to take Triglycerides down. I’m 66 now cardiac ratio stays around 2.5 and am very active. Lost my Dad and a brother in their early 50’s to heart attacks. Don’t smoke either. It can be done and there are different ways to it but it takes the commitment between you and your medical provider.

Agreed but weight lifting is more important than zone 2 and zone 4 on mace from what I have seen
