SIAP, but searched and did not find a related topic.

3 New Iberia (Louisiana) Firefighters are hospitalized, some with critical injuries sustained during their response to that gas related fire/explosion earlier today. Initial reports are that the members were entering the structure when there was an explosion.

The Firefighters are in different hospitals as of tonight; the family members of one Firefighter states that he is critical and in a medically induced coma at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.

Iberia Parish School Board member Raymond "Shoe-Do" Lewis confirmed that his son, Fire Captain Gary Simon, was one of the 3 injured and has been transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge. The Captain is being treated in that burn unit in Baton Rouge for second and third degree burns on his hands.

I read the landlord said this was his 7th house to catch fire? There was also work on the gas line for weeks? Something isn’t adding up here.

quote:

KATC spoke with the person renting the building who says that the fire was due to a gas line. The company servicing the gas to the home was on the scene, and so was the owner of the building, who told KATC that this is his seventh house that has burned.

quote:

Neighbors tell us they are still pretty shaken up after the fire, which they believe was caused by a leak in a gas line that crews have been tending to for about a month.

"We woke up to sirens, went to use the restroom, smelled nothing but gas," said neighbor Jake Smith. "We heard cops yelling, 'Get out, get out!' then BOOM, the trailer blew up."

"They had some kind of gas leak, but something went wrong, because they've been digging in this area for the last three weeks," added Lewis.

When are you going to hire me as your runner? I mean, I am a lawyer. I could re-learn stuff and be a paralegal or even practice again.

You seem to be pretty happy covering high school sports.

Although I do have a proposal to run up the flag pole for our firm to be more active and visible in the high school sports arena. I think there’s bang for your buck there if done right.
