I've been reading this thread for almost two days now, I don't know how I missed it the first time. This shite is awesome.

I know, me too. First post was last month, then he updated a few days later, and nothing since.
That one seems like it has potential.

Dumbwaiter story is giving me the same vibe as the cave story. Too bad it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Here's a few of my own personal stories dealing with ghosts(or dreams/schizophrenia). All happened to me in HS
I was in my room one night and a friend called to ask about some homework. She was sort of "talking" with one of my other good friends Brent, so she decided to three-way call. I was sitting on the floor, drawing something for art and I kept hearing this beat(almost drumming noise). It would be 3 beats and then stop. After a while, I realized I kept hearing this noise. I looked up at the TV and realized it wasn't my TV show making the noise, so I thought maybe it was my parents TV downstairs(their room is directly below mine). I went downstairs and it wasn't on their TV either.
I was still on the phone and kept telling them I was hearing this weird noise. Of course, they thought I was paranoid. Anyways, I was just like "I'm gonna go to sleep with the phone on, cuz I'm still hearing this noise and it's kinda creepin me out."
So, not long after I was asleep. I woke up at some point in the middle of the night, phone still up to my ear, and closed it. I remember thinking "shite, now I'm awake" and looked around my room.
"Dun Dun Dun"
Needless to say, I couldn't get back to sleep by this point. The beating kept going, getting louder and was coming faster. Eventually, it was almost at a constant. Getting louder and louder, faster and faster. It was to the point of where the sound was effecting my sight. I had my eyes open, laying down, looking up at the ceiling and everything was shaking violently in line with the drumming sound. I couldn't even think, all I could hear was this beating noise pulsating through my head.
I remember for one split second I thought to myself
"You've gone insane. You're never going to be okay again... Conversations with mom, done. Hanging out with my brother, done."
when all of the sudden, in the middle of these thoughts, I could feel a man walking up the stairs. He would have been parallel to my left(a wall between my room and the staircase). I was still staring at the celing, couldn't move, couldn't think, everything shaking more violently than I can explain
"DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN DUN, DUN DUN DUN" over and over,
but this man was as calm as day. Step by step, I could feel him walking up the stairs. He was completely black, with a slight outline of white around him.
Finally, he reached the top step. He turned the corner and I could feel him slowly walking towards the door. One last step and he was there. Everythings shaking. I can't think. I've gone insane....
His hand reaches for the door. I feel him grab it. Instantly, I shoot up out of bed and my head goes flying to the left staring directly at the door. The shaking, the noise... both gone silent. Complete silence.
Out of nowhere, my door starts shaking violently, as if to open. I look down to the gronud, knowing I had a baseball bat in my room somewhere? It wasn't there.
I looked up at the door
"Please god let it be my dad. PLEASE! Let him want to beat my arse for leaving a door open or something!!!!"
I knew that whatever was coming in that door didn't mean well. I was just hoping it was my father. And had it not happened so fast, I guarentee I would have been in tears from fear
The next night I'm in my room. My friend Bridget calls again and is like "I'm gonna call Brent again. Maybe Jackie too."
All of the sudden, I hear
"Dun... Dun... Dun" three slow beats in a row.
I instantly freeze up in fear.
I had completely forgotten about everything that had happened the night before. I didn't remember a thing till I heard that noise again. And as soon as I heard that beat again, the entire night hit me(in the same sense that someone's life flashes before their eyes, only it was just the events of the night before).
I ran downstairs and told this girl everything I remembered. She freaked out and was like
"I beleive you. I remember you talking about that noise all night..."

In my bedroom I've got a dormer, and the opposite side of the room is where my bed was. At night, you could often see car's headlights shinning in my room(second floor), but they'd quickly go away when they turned. Well, one night(about 4am) I woke up. I still had my eyes closed, but I felt like there was a light in my room on. I quickly realized it was probably just a car driving by, only... it didn't seem to go away. Thinking maybe somebody was just sitting at the stop sign infront of our house, I opened my eyes and looked over towards the window.
Standing between me and my window was a girl. White dress, long black curly hair. Standing sideways to me, with her head tilted down as to where her hair was completely covering her face. She was transparent but definitely there. The only way I can explain how she looked was to say she was glowing white.
I propped up on my elbows to get a better look. All the sudden, she dissapaited into nothing. The realization that I had just seen a girl standing in my room who just vanished infront of my eyes instantly took over and I froze up. The whole thing had only lasted maybe 5-10 seconds.
I obviously wasn't going to be going back to sleep so I turned on the TV and watched it till I had to go to school.
In my first period class I kept dozing off and the girl beside me was like "Dude, wake up! You're gonna get yelled at"
I was like, "Yeah, I didn't get any sleep last night. ..." and told her the story.
I mean, it could have very easily been a dream I guess, but I was awake. I sat up, froze up then turned on my TV and stayed awake until I went to school.

There is a cemetery close to my home town that you could drive through and the gates were always left open.
In the middle of the cemetery is a grave marker that consists of a statue of an angel looking down at the grave. If you park in front of the statue after midnight and flash your headlights on and off 7 times; then turn your headlights off but leave your parking lights on the angel statue will look up at you.
One night, me and a girl I was dating went to see the angel look up.
Three weeks later the girl tells me she is late and she thinks she is pregnant. Come to find out she wasn't though.
Always gives me the chills to think that I might of got married to that bitch.
Oh, and the angel never looked up at us, if you were curious.

I've been reading the reddit topic in the OP almost every spare minute that I've had for three days and I am genuinely terrified. I was only able to sleep last night by (I am not kidding) watching happy videos on youtube and keeping my eyes fixed on the screen until I passed out.
I'm probably going to have to do it again tonight. I'm such a pussy.
