Just take it off OP, it’s warm enough in Louisiana to where you don’t need it anyway.

I don't doubt the quality of a Tundra, but a Chevy Silverado is solid af.

I know. I actually love the Silverado’s looks. I wanted one with the big V8 but Chevy only puts it in the High country and I refuse to spend that much on a truck.

Take the door panel off. Reach in there and move the latch. Either with a screwdriver or pulling in the cable with pliers.
I've never done it on your kind of vehicle.
