Berlin-

Do the Berlin Wall there's a portion with a lot of murals called the east side gallery. Pretty cool. If you go not too far from there's still what used to be old Soviet apartments. I found it pretty cool.

Also take a walk down Unter den Linden and see the Berlin Museum, the Berliner Dom, and the big needle ( I forget the name).

If you have more time go see Potsdam and Sansoucci. It was at one point the German version of Versailles.

One of my favorite parts about Berlin was that there was no prohibition against drinking- anywhere- and that good German beer was cheaper than the water. We lived it up when we were there.

Also the U-bahn was great. Take it everywhere you can.

Copenhagen is a good bit of fun. I was a short train ride outside the city in Lyngby for a month last year, and am headed back this July.

As far as tourist-y things go Tivoli Gardens is pretty cool and can even have some pretty solid concerts. Nyhavn is pretty to see and get a couple pictures of, but there are so many people that it becomes kinda sucky. Christiania is dirty and smelly, but if you can go on a Saturday afternoon while they're having a soccer tournament on the small field, it's an absolute blast. There are a lot of cool buildings around, so if you're into architecture, I'd recommend just walking around the city. You can also tour the original Carlsberg brewery. You get two free beers with your ticket.

Stuff a bit outside the city... The Louisiana is a really cool modern art museum. Hamlet's Castle is pretty cool.

If you like beer, go with a Tuborg Classic. It's amazing (and relatively cheap).

A restaurant I really liked that isn't world famous like Noma is this basement Italian place called Cofoco. Amazing food there.

You'll have a friend there so I'm sure he/she will have more suggestions, but hope this helps in some way.

Also, if you want to learn a little Danish I'd recommend the Duolingo app, but it's not really necessary as literally everyone I met or bumped into on the street was fluent in English.

ETA: The 7-11s there are amazing. They may be viewed as somewhat trashy here, but the cashier's make an annual salary between 40k and 50k and require a college degree. They're super clean and actually have great pastries/french hot dogs/and lots of beer. Also, they're everywhere (as in when you lose sight of one, another one is most likely less than a block away from you).

You should learn a little history, and not focus so much on geography.
