Anyone have any advice for importing a 20' container of Mardi Gras supplies in from China here to the states?

Not sure of weight but I will not need anything bigger than the 20' container.

Obtained out EIN yesterday and ready to do business with broker but have no idea what the freight forwarding process is as this would be our first order for inventory.

You'll need to use a Freight Forwarder that can clear customs. Where are you located?

Pretty sure you are going to need one for import purposes.

You need to talk to a freight broker like Pentagon freight, Logistics International, or Ceva Logistics.

Call Norton Lilly Logistics. They can do it. I think they have a branch in NOLA as well.

You bet. Good luck and make sure you don't get screwed.

No offense to TigerFred, but C-EVA is garbage. We are forced to use them b/c of our contract.

Edit: What's your email? I'll put you in touch with someone at NLL

I did that a couple of years ago but they say it takes up too much space in their containers and then they put their mark up on them. I can buy these beads for $6.30 each and sell them for $50.00 - $90.00 each.

I am thinking of having something shipped from SA and have a Fed tax ID #, would a broker still be necessary and/or make things work smoother? tia

Find a freight forwarder and get it pre-cleared through customs.
