I'm torn on this decision by UCF and the NCAA. By all accounts, this kid had enough chances to be well within guidelines to be a D1 athlete, but was hard headed and tried to prove a point. Another way to look at it is, YouTube is his job, and you can't tell someone they can't work. I've watched some of his videos, and not one is promoting UCF in any way. Here's a link to his channel and the saying he lost his scholly. Deestroying

Kid is a moron. The restrictions the NCAA places on student athletes are ridiculous, but I can see why they would be concerned in this case. He shouldn't be able to profit off of video taping UCF practices and team-related activities (ie not playing video games in a dorm room but photoshoots, locker room, etc).

Now, he has set up a Go Fund Me because he can't pay for his education. I wouldn't donate a dime. This kid can't possibly be making "that" much money off of a channel with only a hundred thousand subscribers to a point where he feels like it will be a viable career path. I don't understand moving athletic-related videos to a non-monetized account though. Can he not just choose to not monetize those specific videos?

IG doesn't pay users who have millions of followers/views like Youtube does. Only way IG could get an athlete in trouble with the NCAA is if they were being paid by a company to post pics/videos of themselves using or endorsing a product.

Y'all ever think he knew exactly what he was doing and took a stand against the bullshite NCAA? The NCAA may be the most corrupt organization in this country behind the government. They write the rules vague on purpose and everything is decided case by case so they can do whatever they want.

What this kid needs to do is come out and say that he knew he wouldn't be able to door his own bill, but the NCAA is scum and he's taking a stand for all of the other student athletes.

UCF is probably expensive as frick, but im doubting they gave the kicker a full scholarship, so its probably still smart

What's bullcrap is that a student athlete figured out how to make money legally while not affecting his school work or athletics and the NCAA steps in.

I see nothing wrong with what the player did. It's bullcrap that he can't make money on his on

The million plus sub channels probably make decent money, but most people really aren't earning a living off of Youtube.
