And it seems like in half of the cases, the victim's friends and family say what a kind, good-hearted person she was, and how they are mystified why anybody would want to harm her.

Then you find out halfway through the episode, she was whoring around on her significant other because she felt lonely or ignored.

To the OP's point though, it is kind of funny how prominently featured Lester Holt is for a minute or so of hosting per episode. I don't recall Ann Curry getting the same treatment when she hosted before him.

If you pictured it what an uncle Tom was, it would look and sound like Lester holt.
