Where does one buy this $100/gallon Glyphosate?

You do realize that normal spot spray weed control concentrations is 2.5 oz / gallon?

Well, I'm sure you know that table salt and vinegar are far more toxic than the phosphonate glycine family of photosynthesis inhibi

Explain? I'm not a chemist so this sounds odd to me.

Jeez, I'd like to know where you people shop.

Roundup Pro is $89/2.5 gallons

Generic 41% Glyphosate (real Roundup strength) was $55/ 2.5
gallons yesterday at TSC.

A gallon of 42% glyphosate costs about $25. That's enough to last you and your great, great grandchildren the rest of their lives for use around the yard.

It is far less toxic than most household chemicals.

And it's only controversial in the way that "hands up, don't shoot" is controversial. That is to say, to people who don't know what they're talking about.

It's OK to be ignorant. Try not to brag about it.

I bought some the other day at Wal-Mart. $45 for a bottle of concentrate that will yield 23 gallons when mixed. Way cheaper than the pre-mixed.

Household chemicals work precisely because they are so toxic. You want to make yourself sick? Eat a handful of salt. You can cook an egg in vinegar. Those products kill plants by burning. They're literally so toxic, that they melt away the wax on the leaves of the plant, and the plant dries out.

Inhibitor herbicides work on a molecular basis. They get inside the plant and they latch onto an amino acid that is one of the necessary steps in the photosynthesis process. It breaks the conduction chain, and the plant slowly starves to death.

The beauty is that animals don't have this amino acid. Just plants. So it's effects are only on plant life. It has no effect on humans, bugs, mammals, fish, birds. Nothing but plants. It's about 1% as toxic as things that you ingest every day like soap, salt, vinegar, etc. Those things will kill you.

Lol

Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate. It's actually a common fertilizer as magnesium is essential for photosynthesis.

I'm more skeptical of a "natural weed killer" containing Dawn soap.

In that formula, the soap helps strip the leaves of their wax so the vinegar and salt can burn the cell walls. It's just used as a surfactant. It's not the active ingredient.

The problem is that research shows that glycophosphates have antimicrobial properties that negatively effect the microbes in your gut. More research is needed to determine the extent of the issue, but it means that they aren't exactly harmless to us.

you put muriatic acid in your pool too, but you probably wouldn't want to fill your pool with it and get in

I'm aware of this. Answer the other guy's table salt question. He needs to know how persistent it is vs round up which has a known half life.

Wow. Ok, thanks for the explanation. I always shied away from using herbicides in my yard Bc I always just assumed they must be toxic. Good to know. Roundup is the tits.
