Yup. Live .5 miles from OHB and Hwy70 and my commute downtown is 15 minutes each way.

I'm just saying the commute is a bit far if you work in midtown or downtown Nashville at all.

I live in River Bridge... it's nice and affordable (200k range).

There are some newer developments a little further west... Avondale, trace side... They're in the 300 range I believe.

The real estate market here is pretty ridiculous... expect to be bidding against several people.

You do realize that house is sold? You understand that concept of market comps?

I moved to Caldwell Abbey at the end of the summer. Houses here are still affordable ($250-$300k) without having to deal with a commute.

To West End/Murphy Road. But I had linked from a different house. When linking to yours, I got 25 minutes, which isn't too bad.

Yeah, it was just a temporary thing over there until we could find a house. I grew up in Crieve Hall, but that was out of our price range, so I figured the neighborhood next to it would work just the same. We had actually looked over in the West Meade/Hillwood area and found some houses for around $300k just off of Charlotte @ Brooke Hollow area, but they all needed more work than we felt like doing for the price.

the great thing is all these areas are getting HUGE makeovers and while most won't turn into 12south, all the real estate prices are steadily driving north.

a good friend just sold a house about 4 blocks from la hacienda off nolensville and there was an INSANE bidding war that took place and he got well over his asking price.

We dipped our toes into the Woodbine/Glencliff area, but we couldn't compete with cash offers. It's a hot market over there for some still questionable areas.

no kidding.

i moved here in 1996 and the changes in nashville over the last 20 years are AMAZING (for the better).

i'm guessing since you lived here most of your life the changes are even more dramatic.

i hear there is a 2 year waiting list for a building crane. i don't see why someone can't drive up to Flint or Detroit & snag a few and bring them back.
