If you've ever done business with NASA, it becomes obvious that it's just another government boondoggle with a few very smart scientists. But mostly it's the post office for space and feels just like it.
In the last few years I've had the good fortune to work on projects for Space-X and Blue Origin and they have adopted certain practices and procedures from NASA in order to avoid starting over completely. They're also pretty open minded to value engineering, or changing the scope of supply and the specification to get them what they really need for less money. One completely threw out the NASA book, one heavily modified it.
Our company designed and built some specialized heavy equipment for them, no rockets or stuff in space however.

Lol. It’s not NASAs Jake Webb Telescope that will be launched, it’s not NASAs landers that are roaming the surface of Mars with more to come, NASA didn’t fly past Pluto, orbit Jupiter, get into a close orbit of the Sun, etc. yep....NASA is irrelevant and all they do is pander to BLM and muzzies amirite?
