Exactly. When you go visit other countries make sure you understand their customs. And don't be a douche in a country that's known to be run by a ruthless regime.
When I lived in Thailand a Western guy defaced a picture of the King and almost got sentenced to life in a Thai prison. The King pardoned him, kicked him out of the country and told him to never come back. The sad part is that the guy knew what would happen, he'd been a teacher at an international school in Bangkok for 5+ years. And Thailand is known for being pretty laid back compared to Burma.
