Really a difficult call to make one way or the other. No matter the age, it will always affect the kids to some degree. Big question is whether they will be happier with you two together or with you two apart. Question is not always as easy to answer as one might think.

I think we have beat this horse (and the OP'er) enough for one night. I gonna grab something to eat, fix a drink, and put on a movie.
I have an asshat forensic case I have to see in the morning at a jail in north central LA.

Maybe, maybe not. If anything I think my son walked away with the fact I tried. That I made the best out of a bad situation so he could have what he should. And I
here's a news flash, most kids don't give a rats arse if you're happy as long as their needs are being met. And whatever I did must have been the right thing because my son grew up to be a fine young man. And seems to be in a healthy relationship.

This may sound silly but my biggest fear was I didn't want my son to be raised by any other man than his dad. Despite us no longer being in love he was a good father.

Mine has as well. I'm very proud of him. I have sacrificed a lot for him and my ex to have their lifestyle. I know he won't make the same mistake I did. Being miserable isn't worth the pain.
