He had HIV and stopped taking his HIV meds because religious people convinced him he was cured so he got full blown AIDS. Multiple sites called this the week before he died, I told this site about it right after he died and it's on the front page of multiple papers that are out right now. Maybe he did die of a drug overdose but he had zero chance of making it through the summer with how far his AIDS had progressed. Come on people!

I think it's damn near impossible to OD on pills unless you're making cocktails, like Heath Ledger, or on the needle, in which case your probably shoot h anyway.

I'm pretty sure APAP toxicity would get me before I OD'd on percs.

Right. An Oxy, Soma, Xanax cocktail could get someone, but I'm pretty sure I'd go broke before I could OD on opiates alone.

Ummm let's hope not! For real though that is like the most prescribed combo but the two things that always kill people are large amounts of Xanax and booze mixed with any other drugs. You really never hear of anyone dying from an OD without those 2 in their system.

Not anymore, because of all the ODs...at least here that's the case. May have something to do with the pain mgmt bill that cocksucker Bentley signed.

My doc cut my Somas out over a year ago. Then he changed my Xanax to fricking valium 5s and next Tuesday I suspect he will cut those out as he has been cutting the amount in half each month for 3 mos. Pain docs cant write benzoes here anymore, you have to get them from a shrink.

Not I get Rs and fricking ultram. It's hardly worth going anymore.

unless you were give naloxone a short time before this...

you see, naloxone irreversibly binds to the mu opiod receptor... once the naloxone completely and irreversibly bonds to the receptor, opiates absolutely CANNOT elicit a response on those receptors, no matter how much opiate you subject the receptors to... it takes time for those receptors to down regulate and new receptors to spring up...

since he was taking the Percocet for a medical need, he was probably taking them as prescribed, but being the receptors that the drugs were supposed to be working on were being IRREVERSIBLY bound by the naloxone, he likely wasn't getting any pain relief, because the drugs couldn't hit their target and elicit a therapeutic outcome....

he likely kept taking more and more, trying to get that outcome, but all he was doing was putting himself more at risk for respiratory depression, which is what eventually probably killed him....

Unless he had a Narcan shot, why would he have Naloxone in his system.

I am very familiar with Naloxone from my time taking Suboxone, which most people don't realize that the bupernephrine (SP?) in Suboxone/Subutex is what actually binds to the opiate receptors because it has a higher binding affinity due to being that it is a partial opiod/partial agonist. I believe the Naloxone is basically inert unless you mainline the Suboxone (Subutex doesn't contain Naloxone).

Anyway, you're apparently a pharmacist so I'm sure I didn't tell you anything you didn't know already.

Anyway, so unless Prince had previously OD'd about 36-72 hours prior and been hit with Narcan, I can't see how he would have any Naloxone in his system.

he was rushed to the hospital after being unresponsive on a flight a few days before he died...

Ah, I thought I read the flight was stopped because he was having flu like symptoms.

Granted I haven't been keeping up with it too much, at all.

I still think there had to be an underlying illness like AIDS if he dies from something as common as percs.

Most don't dance like Prince. They don't even come close. And they don't do it four hours every night -- not to mention rehearsals -- for 40 years. His hips and knees were fricked

I also saw many friends of him talk about he even played basketball....basketball....while wearing heels.

It is leaking out that he died of a drug overdose and required an intervention for an opiate overdose days before he died.

It is well known that Prince was devoutly religious and not the type to die from a drug overdose.

He had bad hips from jumping and dancing in high heel boots for 40 years and didn't get a hip replacement because he is Jehovah's Witness and joint replacement procedures involve blood transfusions at times. Jehovah's Witnesses don't take transfusions.

Prince is dead because he had to eat pain pills rather than have a hip replacement which is almost an outpatient procedure at this point.

Whoever his medical caregiver was must have been pretty behind the times not to tell him the odds are he wouldn't need a transfusion. But, he may have been in pain for a long enough time than he decided to end it all. I understand that, been there, almost did it myself.
