My great uncle flew on that plane. Lots of cool stories behind it. He passed this year at the age of 95.

Assigned to 832nd Bomb Squadron, 486th Bomb Group, 8th AF USAAF. Named after LSU's mascot Mike the Tiger, as its regular pilot Lt Alfred Sanders was a former track star at the Louisiana State University. Failed to Return (FTR) raid to Luztkendorf, Germany. Hit by Flak and abandoned, 5 x EVD, 5 x POW. 28-May-44. MACR 5390.

Do you know any of the Viper guys there? I think they are all AL ANG, not sure if the AFRC and ANG guys interact much.

I know a couple of them. We normally drill on the same weekends, so we see them around some.
