The best thing I can say is that it does get easier... My brother past away in 2012 and to this day whenever there is Saints or LSU news I think to call him to talk about it...
What you are going through is grieving and it's okay... Little by little you will learn to deal with it. Don't try and push it away... you will deal with it and your everyday life/work. Keep talking to you dad... Everyday if that's what it takes..

Your dad needs you. And you need him.
Grief counseling. Take FMLA or some type LOA if that’s an option. Every job is giving lip service on mental health. Call them on it. Your family is reeling and you need time. Tell them you worry for your dad. If your job has those type resources.
Concentrate on him and you will help yourself too.
