Just think of the happy times you shared with your meemaw
Don't mourn her loss, celebrate her life

Sometimes this isn't funny or appropriate. This was one of those times.

Explaining it to my 3 year old daughter is what makes me cry every time just thinking about
I didn't have kids at the time as a 23 year old, but someone told me when my dad died, "take the lessons you learned from your dad, and pass them on to your kids/nieces/nephews, and he will always be alive through you". Now that I've got two boys who will never meet their grandad, I think about that all of the time. Make sure your little girl knows everything there is to know about your grandmother and everything you learned from her; whenever I catch myself telling my oldest something my dad used to tell me, I smile a little on the inside thinking that's my old man speaking through me. Sorry for your loss

My mom died in a nursing home on March 30, didn't even explain it to my 5yo. She's been in there long enough that he barely remembers her anyway. Alzs. Definitely in a better place now, as are all of her survivors. Cant have funeral so ashes will sit around until "whenever" we can have a memorial service. All because of the flu.

Damn, that sucks. Alzheimer's is a horrible thing. Sorry about your mom

Hey, big hugs to you. This is mentally rough, emotionally tough, and physically detrimental to some. It's ok to grieve. You should....

I'm sorry about this, that's always a horrible situation

Hate to hear it. I lost both grandparents when I was young. It sucks. Praying for you in your time of need.

My Mom died in March. We could only hold a graveside service, which was what she wanted anyway. What really sucked is that we all couldn’t gather afterwards to share memories and laugh and cry together and eat all the food people brought to my house.
