I do that, he's mostly great at dog parks. He plays rough but a lot of them do, he's never gone after a dog like he did yesterday

we bring our beagle to the dog park 2-3 times a week and he has a great time.. and then he's dead for the next 24-36 hours after

Exercise is the key to all dogs really. You need to work out some energy before you go to work. If you have a fenced yard, you may need another dog if you cannot commit to doing it.
Doggy door and toys outside as well.
If you don't have a fenced yard, then you'll need to job or bike the pup every day if it has a lot of energy.

I don't have a fenced in yard, there is a big field across the street from my house I use a lot. The problem is there are several openings in the fence and while fetching he will see another dog or something and run off after it (usually to say hi and play).
I think I'm going to buy one of those 50ft rope leashes and play fetch with him wearing that

What's your commute like?
I assume you have to be at school by 7am. You could probably get away with getting there later, but I'll assume 7am.
If you leave your residence at 630am to get their, that means you (presumably as a male) need about 30 minutes to get ready and out the door in the morning.
So I assume you're getting up at 6am for work.
Set your alarm for 530am and take your dog for a walk or run for 30 minutes.

The dog park is great. Our lab has to stay home all day alone (I am also a teacher so I have the same issues when school starts back up with her having to readjust) and we often come home to shredded papers, sandals, etc. The only problem we have with the dog park is the one near us (on Burbank) has a really low area in the middle and unless it is a severe drought, that thing is always a pond. I don't mind taking her 3 times a week or even more but I am not about to give her a bath every time, kills my back and it isn't good for her skin and coat anyway. We do walks every night but those aren't really enough for her. We try to take her to the backyard but she loses interest very quickly with fetch or those types of games. She needs other dogs to keep her attention. What about getting another dog? We have thought about it but can't afford to pay double the cost when we take her to Camp Bow Wow. We go on weeklong+ vacations at least twice a year and that would add a ton to the cost with an extra dog, plus vet visits, food, etc.
