Deep cleaning is the new scam.
This is true!! 6 years ago I quit going to my dentist bc he was just too damned expensive- almost $300 for a cleaning! So about a year later I called a new place - $115 for a cleaning - I go in - barely open my mouth and they say I need a deep clean - $700 - I said no thanks and left
Found a place a few months ago - went in - even though it’s been 6 years - no deep clean necessary - it was $147 for cleaning & xrays

This is weird. I just got word that my excellent dentist is retiring. Bad coincidence.

Now they use the scare tactic. Ive heard the exact same line
Yeah probably the way it was done for many years until say the last 10 years or so when the Dental offices figured they could find another way to make more money off the customer. Its already bad enough what you pay for some dental procedures and now you cant even get what used to be called a cleaning for free anymore even with having insurance.

They tell me I have periodontal disease and need the deep cleaning. They continue stressed this saying I have receding gums with deep pockets and could be in danger of losing teeth. Even the lady at the front desk is trying to scare me.

DOES the deep cleaning without informing or upcharging the patient
