They really are some "bad built" short legged little critters. Don't think I'd ever see myself wanting one but it's not hard to fall in love with any ol dog or mutt when you spend any time with them. So I cant knock people that have them. It's like everyone thinks their kid is cute when its far from the truth. Same and even more so with pugs, Pekingese, frenchies and other yap dogs.

I used to have one that killed birds too. They are crafty - I wouod watch mine sneak into Azalea bushes and wait for birds to gather in the bush, then strike. I wondered how his short arse could reach birds; once i studied him it became apparent. With that said, yes they are bad arse!

Had a buddy whose dad had a dachshund in Virginia. His neighbor raised fighting cocks. Dachshund got loose in the coop and killed every single one. Something like $50,000 worth of fighting cocks in 70s . His neighbor told him he would sure him and my buddy's dad laughed and said, "I'm sure you'll win and enjoy your time in prison with my money."

Point being that dachshunds are vicious. shite, they were bred to hunt badgers.

Mine killed a squirrel. Shook it like a rag doll chew toy.

The older mine gets, the more of a dick he is. He has bitten me a couple times and my hand hurt from slapping his arse so hard. Made me feel bad

When you think about how lovable most hounds are, yet dachshunds have attributes of both hounds and terriers, the "viciousness" is understandable.

Beagles are supposed to chase rabbits, squirrels, foxes or racoons - while a decent sized racoon can be dangerous to a single dog, particularly in the water, a badger can frick a human up if the human is not careful.

Heck, wolverine's are essentially pitbull sized badgers and they are one of the few creatures that grizzlies will avoid confronting.

Nice. Dachshunds are awesome. Mine is a rabbit catching little bastard. He catches em and puts them in his dog house. And won't let them out.

He has tried to bring them in the house. The wife freaks out when he does it.

My Pawpaws black short hair Dachsund was as mean as they come. My last two long hair Dachsunds are glorified lap dogs.

This is an old photo of our boy. He's a bossy, lazy little shite, but he's a sweet dog. I've seen small kids stick their fingers in his mouth and poke his gums and he just calmly took it.

E b white, who wrote charlettes web, had many of these dogs. His nonfiction essays about them are very funny and very heartbreaking.
