48 Hours Episode

Daily Mail Article from 2011

I listed to the 48 Hours podcast of this episode yesterday (they post old tv episodes as podcasts). This tv episode is from 2012, but it discussed an attempted murder that took place in St. Tammany in 1994.

Harold 'H' Landry is in jail in England for murdering his wife. He was living in St. Tammany and made a ton of money from designing cranes for offshore rigs, met her online in 2000 and moved over there and married her (this was his 3rd or 4th marriage). He killed her in 2010 and has been in jail ever since.

Then the show goes into his background and say that H was arrested in 1994 in St. Tammany for the attemtped murder of his girlfriend's husband. He shot the guy in Covington, the guy lived, and H managed to get off of on a suspended sentence. The show says he had also (through family members) made a large contribution to the campaign of the judge that was overseeing his case. I had never heard of any of this before, does anyone remember when this happened?
