Yea the electric motor starts in the power band. I was less surprised that the tesla won, more surprised at the two cars nipping at its heels.

Race to a 1/2 mile and the tesla would lose by bus lengths.

Or put in few turns. Tesla is fast as hell in a straight line 0-60 or 1/4 mile. It doesn't measure up to a number of other cars on a track and isn't nearly as fun to drive.

For some reason, I don't believe you.

The 911 Turbo S and Ferrari 488 beat the ZL-1 1LE at a recent track comparison. It was relatively close though. And, at $73k and carrying loads of arse, the Camaro is damned hard to beat.

I agree that Chevy has made big leaps in the Camaro.

They've allowed the Camaro group to proceed unrestricted (I.e. Corvette limitations)......they are fricking magicians with this lard arse. I actually really like the car and it has a back seat!!!!

The Nurb is a limited dynamic. Laguna Seca is a much better gauge of overall abilities.

And, the 911 Turbo S is actually a comfortable daily driver. The 1 LE is a chiropractor's dream.

Keep in mind the 1LE is built to be a track car. The carbon fiber rear spoiler looks a bit ricey, but it adds over 300 lbs. of downforce at 150+ mph. They did make it a little more of a daily driver than the Z28 was though. It finished 4th overall in this Motor Trend test, and the primary knock on it was that it would be tough to use as a daily driver compared to the other cars. Whichever car I buy next, how it performs on the track will be a major factor. I don't need a daily driver.

I love that they only made the ZL1 1 LE with a 6-speed manual with no option for the 10-speed auto like the regular ZL1. The manual with rev matching is fun on the track. My Vette was a manual with rev matching.

The 911 Turbo is my dream car, but just a tad out of my price range. Loved them since I was a kid.

I beat a modded 15 GTR by over a second in my 16 A8 z06. I ran 9.97 at 137mph on drag radials. He ran 11.05 at 132mph. His 60ft was better but my reaction time was quicker.
My car just has pulley, intake, tune, meth injection and exhaust.

I have yet to run a Tesla, but I think I could beat one assuming I cut a good 60ft.

I get the allure of a manual tranny...they are fun, but the new 911 PDK is just insanely fast (i came from an Audi RS7 and thought that was pretty fast, and now look back and realize how slow it was compared to PDK). There is no way I could ever come close to multiple downshifts in the time that PDK does it.

Ray Brandt Porsche tells me that only 1 of 10 911's sold now are manual--a niche for the purists I suppose.

I had a SHO before my truck and it was very fun. Couldn't imagine something more powerful.

2009 911 S here, manual. It is so much fun to drive I cannot imagine buying the auto. Want to get a newer model 4S, but must have manual transmission.

Great daily driver, but rock chips on the hood are incredibly painful.

I put a new windshield on mine 4 weeks ago ('15 CS)

It is currently getting another windshield as a rock on I-10 in Metry hit it and it ran immediately---4 frigging weeks and 2 windshields!!
