If you have the time, driving River Road from New Orleans to Baton Rouge is interesting on both sides of the river. If you do it, buy this book to take with you. LINK

Bull Run Road, Hwy 311 north of Houma to Chacahoula, LA . Bonus take 309 through swamp to Hwy 1 just north of Thibodaux

True Dat, great comparison!

A good road by Louisiana standards is one that doesn’t destroy your front end alignment and blow out your tires on the way to the grocery.

If you travel around the country, you’ll realize how much of a shite-hole we live in.

My PawPaw used to say “Son, look at this map of the USA, then look all the way to the bottom, that’s us, the Armpit of America”

Never til I got older did I realize how true it is!

Some scenery is nice, but I’ll take the mountains or beach any day.

White Lightning. Hwy 146 from Ruston to Lake Claiborne. Terrific road. It’s about 25 miles of really nice hills and twisties. I had a V65 Magna not long after high school and I’m surprised I made it to old age, the way we rode it.

Hwy 518 and 519 are pretty good as well. From Arcadia to Athens and Homer. One of them goes on behind the spillway at lake Claiborne and he’s really scenic for a Louisiana road. It’s
