Speaking of Waterproof, LA, my uncle held on to a newspaper article from the 80's where the front page headline stated, "Waterproof Man drowns in Dry Creek."

You witnessed greatness.

I always wanted to stop in there, but was still working when passing through and couldnt. That place is the epitome of a redneck bar.

Atlanta. They were the GOAT small school basketball team. Class C played top ranked 5A Ouachita and beat them. Then Atlanta's JV beat Ouachita's. Pretty sure Atlanta didnt have any players over 6'2.

Panchoville

But it's not pronounced like usual "pancho" in Pancho Villa.

Instead, pronounced with a long "a" sounds.

Like "pain-co-ville".

It's not on any map, but the locals in lower Plaquemines Parish used to call a place Nutriaville. It was a bunch of shacks and rundown house trailers just past The Jump on the road going to Cypress Cove.

Lawd we ran into Flouren, Zwolle, and Anacoco while I played ball. We tok down Flouren one yr by getting their 6'6" mountain of a power forward in foul trouble. The others just destroyed our asses. I'd bet that yr in and out there's a C or B school that can compete for 5A state titles. With no football team it's all basketball all of the time.
