Farm and Garden store. Stacking bags and hay. Moving pallets around with a pallet jack that was damn near broke down. Spring time was the worst time to be doing doing that job.

I did more than one 16 hour night of chipping out ore hoppers. That shite sucks.

Spent a semester mixing refractory every day. That shite sucks.

Spent an August digging footings at shell norco with a shovel. That shite sucks.

Now, I don't sweat if I don't want to. Earning that degree sucked arse but it sure is nice to have it.

Farming beginning when I was a kid, first job was loading planter hoppers with 50lb bags of soybeans, loading a crop duster (cotton insecticide would make my eyebrows burn), and the worst was telecom construction for a jake leg outfit in Shreveport.

Worked at a Coca Cola bottling plant one summer. Hot building, had to open a plastic wrap of stacked empties, then load the cases onto the bottling line. That was 12 cases a minute, all day, except for the occasional break. And did I say it was hot?

in college working in paper mills reworking lime kilns, confined space, replacing the heavy, heavy bricks.

Also worked as a brick masons helper a few summers, hard work but not near as hard as the mill job.

The most physical job I ever had was the four years in the Marine Corps. Thank God I was young.

I loaded trucks at a FedEx shipping plant one summer. No AC and a little shitty fan that did just enough to keep you from having a heat stroke. It was hell.
