I once worked on a mountain man that had a badly broken down tooth that needed to be extracted. When I went to numb him he told me no anesthesia. I reluctantly complied and extracted the molar without. He never batted an eye. I asked him how he could do that and he told me he's only felt pain twice in his life. Once was when he was in the woods and nature called and he accidentally squatted on a bear trap. The other was when he ran out of chain.
Pain is relative I guess.

Had a molar all the way in the back I was getting pulled ( cheaper than fixing a cavity when I was 20 with no insurance). Well he stated to pull and it wasn't numb enough but he said he couldn't give me any more. As if that wasn't bad enough, the tooth broke. The remaining piece was too small to get a good grip on with the pliers so he had to use a grinder and roughen it up to get a better grip. I didn't go back to the dentist for 6 years after that

The look I received when I told him he was about to commit fraud kinda stung a bit. It was worth it though.
Ole boy had never been called out in his life before.

Gums around wisdom tooth were infected. HAd to pull the tooth.
I couldn't have general anesthetic because of medication and a recent irregular heartbeat made the dentist too scared to do that to me. So, he pulled the wisdom tooth (which was not erupted) using general anesthetic. Thing is...the general anesthetic really doesn't work well when the area is infected.
That fricking hurt.

When I had my root canal, it wasn't until he started drilling that we realised that I wasn't all the way numb yet. I felt that shite in my toes!!!!! Also accidentally hit my tongue withe the drill.

What dental school did your dentist go to?

Same thing happened to me as a kid, fortunately was able to change dentists when I was around 16. I still vividly remember every minute of the multiple sessions of pure hell. I doubt the guy is still alive, but if he walked in front of truck today the only decision I would have to make would be hit the gas, or reach for my pistol.

My childhood dentist was a sadist. He talked my parents into letting him take out my wisdom teeth. Numbed all four quadrants and proceeds to spend an hour cutting and pulling on the first tooth. Starts cutting on the second and I was no longer numb and I told him so. He accused me of lying to him and kept cutting

3 cavities on top front teeth (one was old filling that had chipped). Dentist said the location of the cavity meant anesthesia wouldn't work as well but he would try anyway. That huge needle going right in my upper gum above my teeth was the worst feeling ever.

Was having permanent retainer removed and the fricker was grinding on my teeth. Felt like he was holding a lit match under my teeth. I was sweating bullets. He asked if was in any pain and told him yes. He basically called me a pussy and kept grinding. He assistant was looking at him like "what the hell are you doing?" I took out my pocket knife and jabbed him in his neck. I took his assistant to the back room and gave her a good grind job. Today, she is my wife.
