The highways here weren’t very well planned out back when they put 135 through here. They’re trying to fix a lot of it now so it’s getting better (at least I imagine it is it’s gotten better in the 6.5 years I’ve been here anyway). It’ll just take a lot of time.

I bet Baghdad, Iraq is a pretty cheap city. Maybe any city in Yemen too.

I live in one of South Bend's white flight suburb. Some of the surrounding areas like Mishawaka or where I live, Granger, are nice, but as someone else mentioned, South Bend is a shithole outside of the Notre Dame campus. I avoid it like the plague. Only decent thing about it is the zoo, which is actually nice, and the newish casino, which isn't half bad.

Interesting.

Prior to getting a job at LSU, my neighbor worked at IU - South Bend. She said she actually liked it and prefers it to BR.

Cheaper, apparently they have a river you can ride rapids on, minor league baseball, a short drive to Lake Michigan’s beaches and Chicago, four seasons (she said the BR summers and South Bend winters nullify each other), and surprisingly, she said it was safer - or at least felt safer.

She lived in South Bend by the Zoo. Sunny Meade neighborhood I believe?
