Monroe officer shot by another officer at Super 8

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police investigators said on Wednesday that another officer fired the gun that hit the Monroe officer who was shot on Thursday of last week. They say the officer was shot inadvertently.

They said:

"As the investigation into the officer involved shooting continues, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Monroe Field Office, has determined that during the struggle with the suspects an officer was inadvertently shot by another officer on the scene. All three that suffered from being shot were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. This is an active and on-going investigation and further updates will follow at a later date."

The shooting happened on January 3rd, 2019.

UPDATE: 12:04 PM THURS. (1/3/2019) - According to arrest reports, Lewis Craft and Johnathan Guillory both face charges in connection with the officer-involved shooting.

The reports say both suspects were in the room during the time of the incident. During the investigation, the reports say, detectives found a small bag of what they believe to be meth.

One report also says Gulliory did not comply with police and aggressively moved toward the officer. Investigators say Guillory then grabbed the officer and forced him backward.
