Do you even know where it is? Its back in a corner at the end of Canal behind a 30' tall concrete wall. You had to go way out of your way to see it and even then it wasn't very noticable.
And do you know how it got there? By being an issue 25 years ago. I was simply replying to someone who said no one ever cared about the statue before the last year or two

Do you get a participation trophy for pretending to understand disenfranchisement and racial discrimination?

I find it interesting then that so many (including you) try to remember the plight of African slaves. According to you, their heritage and lifestyle are not worth remembering considering they were conquered and their people sold into slavery.
If their going into slavery is the fault of anyone, it was the leader of these failed nations that couldn't protect their people.
Are you going to blame the winner (the Europeans) for winning? (I think I know the answer)

Name one black person who celebrates the slavery of African Americans? No black person goes around talking about yea our ancestors got sold beat raped killed but they picked the hell out of that cotton tho. They were some cotton picking mother frickers during slavery. We should celebrate.
However some whites (including you) celebrate the south seceding from the union and losing. Y'all want statues and to fly your own flags on state buildings.

Yes the white devil had no choice but to come in and buy sell rape beat and work these innocent people til death. It is their nation fault for not protecting them from the white devil.

Do you blame the union for winning or the stupid Confederacy for fighting a war they would lose? (I think I already know your answer)

Africans sold other Africans into slavery. The tribes that lost turf wars to other tribes were sold to europeans. Europeans didn't come to africa and enslave them.
The belgians did, but they enslaved them in their own country. And that was WAYYYYYY after the fact.

but blacks fail to recognize many other ethnicities were slaves too. thats the problem I have. as well as it was 150 years ago. nobody alive was a slave. So when will the cut off for this be?
another 50 years? 200? i don't think it will ever get dropped despite the fact AAs have many more programs to help them succeed than any other race in this country

It won't. It's easy and convenient.

I guess the Africans twisted the Europeans arm to buy the slaves. I mean the Europeans were just cruising around in their ships and the Africans flagged them down and made them a sweet heart deal on some gently used slaves. The Europeans didn't have a need for slaves because they had all those Irish slaves, but bought the African slaves anyways. Is this how it went down?

You're talking to a guy who in this thread advocated building a monument to the leader of the revolution that led to the modern nation of Haiti, a place where black people suffer worse than maybe anywhere else on Earth. The guy obviously hasn't thought his whole ideology through.

would they have taken them if they weren't for sale?
guess we will never know

Actually all I want is history accurately remembered. It's not me trying to erase history.
Remember, it's also not me telling other people to forget about whole cultures that lost and to remember that they were conquered.

So is this the point where I try and remind you that they lost? That what happened afterward is what happens when your side loses?

First off, other ethnicity were almost always considered indentured servants meaning their servitude had an expiration date. Blacks were generational slaves born into slavery and died a slave.
Second this country has up until today have purposely disenfranchise decedents of slaves. From Jim Crowe to segregation to predatory lending. So I guess the cutoff will be when this country stops going out its way to stifle the black race.

Name one, because there has never been one piece of legislature that has solely been written for blacks. Hell affirmative action benefits white females than any other demographic. Why is that? Because like I said nothing has ever been done solely for blacks. The handicap gays women and every other "minority" gets lumped in.
